Some travellers may find that a day tour to the north coast of Bali can be quite an exhausting experience. Therefore, baliprivatedriver.com has planned a series of overnight excursions where you will have the opportunity to stop at the end of the day to freshen up and rest. There are several comfortably appointed hotel and bungalow accommodations located on the north coast of Bali that we recommend for an overnight stay. However, choosing where to stay is entirely your decision.

North Coast & Kintamani Overnight Tour
Take pleasure in a full day journey that travels to the north of the island. The first stop for the morning is to Taman Ayun, the royal temple of the once mighty Mengwi kingdom, to see classic Balinese temple architecture in a setting surrounded by a wide moat and tranquil gardens. We then pay a visit to Ulun Danu Temple, a Hindu/Buddhist shrine dedicated to the Goddess of the waters, before witnessing the serene beauty of the Buyan and Tamblingan Lake District. We also see a plantation that produces aromatic Balinese coffee and enjoy a last stop at a charming waterfall before reaching the coastal town of Lovina for a restful overnight stay.

The return trip was designed to take in the gentle beauty of Kintamani village to see Mount Batur, its vast crater, lake, volcanic cones and solidified lava flows. Next is a site known as Tirta Empul where there is a temple with bathing pools filled with spring water believed to possess healing powers. We then pass the memorial site of Gunung Kawi where a series of ancient tombs symbolise defied rulers and lastly we find ourselves at one of Bali’s oldest spiritual attractions. Goa Gajah dates back to the 11th century and reveals a combination of Hindu and Buddhist stone relics. There is also a cave with an entrance carved to resemble the mouth of a demon that was once used as a mediation chamber.

Lovina Overnight Tour
You will enjoy a scenic drive up to the north part of Bali enhanced by a number of stops along the way at several cultural and religious sites before checking into the hotel of your choice. The highlight of this tour is an early morning boat ride off the coast of Lovina to watch dolphins as they frolic at sunrise in the gentle waters of the Bali Sea. After breakfast we then head to Air Panas Banjar for an energising dip in a series of natural hot water springs that are surrounded by a landscape of tropical flora.

We slowly descend from the top of the island and take a lunch break at Kintamani to enjoy captivating views over Mount Batur, its vast crater, lake, volcanic cones and solidified lava flows. Our last stop for the day is the charming village of Ubud where daily live revolves around a continuous cycle of artistic pursuits and religious pageantry. Shop for souvenirs and handicrafts at the traditional marketplace or wander through the outer courtyards of the nearby palace that belongs to Ubud’s royal family.
